BASICS OF QUILTING - Dec 05, 2019 09:30 am
This class will cover the basics of quilting, such as how to piece together fabric for quilting, sandwiching the quilt, binding the quilt and machine quilting. This class is open to those who are interested in refreshing their skills, or to begin building their quilting skills. During the class information will be provided regarding basic tools and how to use them for quilting. This class is also open to those who would like to practice or learn the basics for using the Sew Steady template Sampler Set Ruler work or the Sew Steady Janome Ruler Work Kit for Machine Quilting.
Quilt projects can and should be worked on at home, since projects will not be completed in one class.
A project may be suggested by a student to work on, and approved by the instructor or recommended by the instructor.
This class will run monthly.
Instructors quilting project suggestions:
The Sew Steady Westalee Ruler quilting class projects will use the Template Sampler Start Kit and Janet's Ruler Quilt Design Book (available at Murrays).
For quilting class projects for piecing a quilt top, table runner or placemat, most projects in the non-sale quilt book section are appropriate for the class and available at Murrays, but not all patterns in a book for the basics of quilting. In addition there are patterns at the store, but not all patterns at Murrays are approved for the class. Contact the instructor for approval of a pattern. Cost:
